Managing Director & Company Founder
Danny Barr is the Head of the company as Managing Director and comes from an IT background. Danny is an expert in multiple areas of IT having set up his own business in Cavan town in 2010.
Cinnte Technologies was established in that with the goal of providing the best IT Services to small and medium sized businesses and schools in Cavan, Meath, Monaghan, Longford and West Dublin.
Danny holds a BA in Computer Science and Business from Athlone IT in addition to as a Masters degree in IT Security and Computer Forensics from DCU.
He has also completed additional training in Ethical hacking. Danny has lectured in various IT & CCTV modules in Cavan Institute and has been an active member of Cavan Chamber of Commerce for many years.
Danny is passionate about IT and the growing importance of cyber-security to small and medium sized businesses in the Cavan area and beyond. Danny is active in the community and is also a member of the local Fire brigade within Cavan urban area.
Senior IT Operations Manager
Jim Kelly is with Cinnte Technologies several years and is a key member of the team. Jim holds a Bsc in Computer Science from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown and has a wealth of IT experience.
”I got into IT as I naturally enjoy problem solving and logical thinking towards issues so IT is a field that certainly suited my skillset.
I also enjoy that IT is ever evolving so you must continue to study and learn to stay at abreast of the latest developments across software, hardware and so on.”
When not at work or at home, you can find Jim out and about socially, being quite busy playing bass guitar with the Cavan Beat band and the Cavan Symphonia Orchestra.
He is also a leader in Cavan Scouts organisation and enjoys helping young people to develop their skills and potential in this context.
Jim is originally from Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim and has been known to sing a tune or two in the office when he gets a chance.
Senior IT Hardware and Camera Installation Engineer
Joey Hickey is with Cinnte Technologies almost ten years and is one of our longest serving team members.
Joey possesses extensive knowledge of a variety of IT hardware systems in relation to their installation and core components. His specialities include security systems, cabling and fitting in a variety of business and organisational setting.
Joey has worked onsite with some of our largest and smaller clients, all small businesses, health or educational settings and has delivered a variety of hardware, camera and other projects for us to a very high standard.
”I became a professional Installation Engineer as I have always enjoyed practical and project work where I can deliver and solve a challenge for a client and for Cinnte.

Joey is also a big fan of music and is a member of his local Civil Defence and Cavan Fire Brigade. He enjoys keeping physically fit and does some DJ’ing in his spare time as well.
Finola McGinley joined us in 2019 having relocated from Dublin to her native Cavan.
Finola’s background is in marketing and communications and she has almost ten years’ experience working in business development and marketing roles in a different contexts including political and IT. Finola also looks after company accounts.
Finola likes keeping abreast of changes in marketing techniques with a particular focus on digital marketing trends and research, focusing on the best channels for the audience. She hopes to go back to college study a web design course at night in the near future.
”I am passionate about technology and how it can help people in their daily lives, in the workplace. I enjoy helping small business owners find solutions to common IT services issues and communicating with them effectively to advise on how changes in their managed IT services can help their business.”
Finola is keenly interested in history and current affairs and in her spare time, she does political advocacy work and loves reading a good biography and visiting museums.
IT Support Consultant
Declan Walsh joined our team in 2019 having spent 4 years working in his home county of Monaghan in an IT Support role.
Declan completed a B.SC in Computer Applications & IT in Dundalk Institute of Technology over 4 years having previously studied IT systems in Monaghan Institute. Declan has gained very valuable working knowledge across networking, virtualization, installation and repair of hardware as well as coding and cloud infrastructure. He continues to study while working and is certified in Windows Server, VMWare, ComptiA and Learning Virtualization.
“I decided to pursue a career in IT as I felt drawn to technology and innovation. I enjoy the engineering side of IT where you are constructing and deconstructing hardware and software systems to problem solve for clients. I enjoy solving issues for clients and delivering projects based on these fundamental principles. I like working in IT and particularly at Cinnte, because I am constantly learning on the job as well as by my own research.

In his spare time, Declan enjoys spending time with his fiancee & family, walking his dog Baxter, supporting Liverpool Football Club in the premiership & playing darts. He is also keen to maintain fitness and does by spinning several times a week.
IT Support Consultant
David joined the team in 2019 having worked in IT across the technology and FMCG sectors for over 10 years.
David studied Electronic Engineering in Limerick IT and then made the crossover into IT after graduation due to very transferable skills such as planning, numerical reasoning and software programming and problem solving.
”I was attracted to the field of IT as it was growing at such a pace when I decided to pursue in that area, it seemed very exciting and I knew it would offer me a variety of new and interesting challenges.
‘The networking side of IT really sparks a particular passion in myself to me in terms of engineering design of networks that IT infrastructure sits on.
“I love working in IT as it is constantly evolving, which means as a professional, I must keep enhancing and adding to my knowledge and skills.
”I like working in Cinnte as the other team members are very approachable and we work well together. I love IT as it offers so much variety and each day is very different to the last. Every day is like a school day in terms of learning while working.”
David enjoys running and GAA in his spare time. He coaches underage Gaelic football teams in his locality which his sons play on and he is a native of Arvagh, Co. Cavan. David also enjoys playing guitar and drums in a local band and likes learning new skills outside of work when he can.
Business Development Manager
Ben joined the Cinnte family in 2019 having gained over 15 years experience in sales and business development across telecoms, retail and other sectors where he built up sound experience and knowledge of the sales process.
Ben studied computer programming in DIT Kevin Street, as well as health related fitness and care of the elderly. Ben’s combination of technical knowledge, strong interpersonal skills and client relationship management & new business development all come into play.

Ben really enjoys sports outside of work and played Gaelic football for many years in Dublin, He is very passionate about Irish soccer, Rugby as well as GAA and is involved with his local GAA team in Kells. Ben also coaches at underage level wehre his sons are all actively involved.
Why Cinnte Technologies Was Set Up
Danny Barr decided back in 2010, that he would like to start his own company providing IT services. Danny saw a gap in the market at that time and wanted to apply his business and IT skills to good use.
The team has grown from a one man operation to almost ten employees at the present and continues to grow.
We currently manage nearly 1000 devices for our loyal clients across the various sectors and we continue to grow. We are a proactive IT support company managing everything from data backups, servers, hardware, cloud solutions like Office 365 and IT Help-desk.
We are proactive in that we believe prevention is better than cure when it comes to IT . We believe in and advocate that ongoing monitoring of security, disaster recovery and productivity are all key to successful IT in your business.
